The Cary Court Bed And Breakfast in Torquay
The Cary Court is renowned for its full English breakfast served in elegant surroundings with views over the verandah garden.
We are not licensed, but we offer a well equipped Garden Room/Bar, with an ice making machine and chiller cabinet, guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

The Cary Court hotel offers tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished bedrooms, some with king size beds, some with four-posters, all have en suite facilities.
All bedrooms are provided with digital colour television, complimentary tea / coffee trays and hair dryers. Every room has free WiFi internet connection.

Torquay like Rome was built on seven hills. Cary Court is situated up one of those hills and occupies a sloping site. Cary Court is a period property with later more modern extensions, has many steps and self closing doors through out. There are many “spiky” plants in the garden that may cause injury. There is an out door pool and pond, boardwalks and decking that may be hazardous to the unwary and or Children. The Guest House provides quality ensuite bed and breakfast accommodation in ten letting rooms. There is on site parking for eight to ten vehicles.
The property is not Licensed. Special dietary needs can be catered for by arrangement. We do not allow pets of any kind. We do not cater for hen or stag groups or children under the age of ten.
We offer “Porterage to all guests whether they are able bodied or not. There are outside security lights that automatically turn on and off.

We can arrange to collect guests from either the Railway Coach Stations but insist on twenty four hours notice of such requirements.
Main Entrance a Reception area.
The Reception area is level, doors to the Dining and Guest Lounge, stairs to the first floor bedrooms. There are Ground floor bedrooms. There is seating to the Reception area where pens and paper available to the hard of hearing. All guests are welcomed to Cary Court with a familiarisation tour of the common areas including the garden and pool areas. The Reception office is available during the day and early evening. There are call bells for staff at all other times.
Public Areas – (general Information)
There are no lifts at Cary Court. All floor coverings are to close cover with the exception of the Garden room where there is a rug. All bathroom floors are hard ceramic tiled. There is a cloakroom to the ground floor for guest use. All bathrooms and the cloakroom have conventional W.C.s and wash hand basins. All Bathrooms are fitted with step in Shower cubicles.
The dining room is on the ground floor. Lighting is uniform with strategically place standard lamps as well as side lamps and wall lights. There is waiter service for hot beverages and main courses and a self service buffet for juices and cereals and yoghurts.
There are no laundry facilities at the Guest House.
There is no shop at the Guest House.
There are no treatment rooms at the Guest House. Guests who wish to use the exercise room or pool are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers with regard to availability times and safety as well as the notices posted near to the respective facility. Guests are advised to consult with a qualified Doctor before using these facilities or taking strenuous exercise.
There is no life guard on duty. Guests are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers as well as those posted close to the facility. There is and emergency bell close to the pool.
Guests are welcome to use the Veranda and garden, but are reminded the wooden surfaces are very slippery when wet, there are many steps, water hazards as well as exotic trees and plants which may be “spiky” and can cause injury.
Conference rooms, club rooms, entertainment
There are no such facilities at the guest house.
A B.Y.O. bar is provided for guests convenience and is situated in the Garden Room..
We cater for the able bodied at Cary Court Guest House. We are pleased to welcome those with physical challenges. We cannot guess anybody’s physical condition and whilst we try to cater for all at all times, if a guest has a physical disability we believe it is their responsibility to draw that disability to our attention so that we are better able to help them enjoy their stay with us.
